Overview
The Access to Care Team provides end‑to‑end administration support to the hospital and its functions. The team manages all queries, telephone calls and correspondence for front‑of‑house, admissions, outpatient clinics and medical records.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Reception – Deliver a patient‑centred experience and manage all contractor, visitor and patient pathways in accordance with policies and procedures.
Distribute and track key registration processes for all internal stakeholders.
Manage car‑park enquiries with UPMC facilities and senior management.
Handle call volumes and forward voicemails to relevant internal colleagues ensuring timely follow‑up.
Administer Healthlink, the health mail platform, responding to referrals and ensuring clinical vetting.
Manage the outpatient clinic diary schedule and liaise with consultants.
Assist with admissions – ensure all patients are checked in, verify details, collect insurance and revenue, process DNA and cancellations, produce end‑of‑day cash reporting, and liaise with theatre scheduling and medical records.
Provide flexibility in roster and work in other hospital areas as required.
Follow uniform policy and produce documentary evidence of training and experience.
Participate in quality and safety initiatives, audits, and performance indicators.
Cooperate with UPMC to promote health and safety, including fire safety education sessions.
Maintain information governance and confidentiality of patient and staff records.
Qualifications & Experience
Strong background in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Ability to work to strict deadlines and prioritize under pressure.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships.
Excellent decision‑making and ownership of activities.
High accuracy and attention to detail with excellent numerical and organisational skills.

Salary
€29,326.92 – €44,113.46 per annum (based on a 37.5 hour work week)
