**Our Purpose**Within the Automation Engineering group at Medtronic, plc, our focus is on transforming manufacturing processes through the integration of industry-leading automated equipment.The Senior Engineering Program Manager leads and coordinates the implementation of automation initiatives across global manufacturing sites, driving continuous improvement and supporting business objectives.
This role is responsible for developing and deploying best-in-class automation programmes, managing financials, aligning leadership, and fostering a culture of project management excellence.
Acting as a bridge between technical teams, stakeholders, and business goals, the Senior Engineering Program Manager ensures the successful delivery of engineering projects and strategic automation plans, while promoting standardisation and continuous improvement across the organisation.

*****A Day in The Life Of:**Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
* Oversee and coordinate automation projects across all Medtronic sites in the EMEA and Asia regions, ensuring strategic alignment.
* Develop and manage detailed programme schedules, budgets, and resource allocation, proactively identifying and mitigating risks and implementing back-to-green plans as required.
* Lead cross-functional teams to implement process improvements, driving efficiency and standardisation.
* Manage project updates and financial records in Planisware, deliver regular reports, and ensure alignment with leadership regarding performance to targets.
Additionally, forecast for ongoing projects and develop strategic roadmaps to achieve future cost reduction objectives.
* Manage stakeholder communications, effectively conveying project status, priorities, and risks to all levels.
* Champion a culture of continuous improvement and support the rollout of best-in-class business processes.
* Lead project implementation from assessment to production release, adopting system-based approaches and Lean tools**Key Skills & Experience*** Requires NFQ Level 8 Degree and 7+ years of Engineering and Program Management experience OR Master's degree with a minimum 5+ years of experience* Strong Project Management Skills: Experience leading and managing large projects in operations/ manufacturing plants* Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, demonstrated teamwork and a strong internal/external customer focus* Negotiation and influencing skills* Experience in identifying risks and implementing risk mitigations into project plans* Leadership and Teamwork Skills: Ability to lead, motivate, and inspire teams to achieve common goals.
Ability to challenge norms, inspire confidence in challenging conditions and foster a culture of "Why not".
* Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Ability to dig into details, identify and resolve complex technical and project-related issues* Expert knowledge of Validation life cycle in the Med Tech Industry* Highly proficient in Microsoft Office tools including MS Project**Nice to Have*** Experience of designing, developing, validating and launching Automation in a medical device manufacturing environment.
