We are seeking an Experienced Beef Specialist to join our dynamic team and play a key role in driving the success of our beef and dairy-beef programmes. The successful candidate will play a vital role in progeny assessment, technical support, and customer engagement, ensuring herdowners and industry partners are equipped to make the most informed and effective breeding decisions. As a critical link between cutting-edge genetics and on-farm performance, they will work closely with our beef genetic team, sales team and progressive herdowners to ensure the best genetic choices are made for optimal profitability and efficiency. This role is central to ensuring that our genetics deliver measurable, on-farm results. Key Responsibilities Conduct detailed on-farm assessments of beef and dairy beef progeny to evaluate phenotypic and genetic performance and ensure alignment with programme objectives Provide expert technical support to our national and international sales team, ensuring customers receive tailored advice and evidence-based sire recommendations Work closely with herdowners to analyse herd performance data, improve breeding strategies, and demonstrate the commercial impact of superior genetics Collaborate with R&D teams to feed field insights into ongoing sire selection and programme development Deliver training and knowledge transfer to colleagues, partners, and customers through meetings, workshops, and on-farm consultations Represent the company at relevant national and international events, meetings, and conferences as required Essential Requirements A strong background in bovine genetics and breeding, ideally with practical experience in both beef and dairy beef systems A relevant third-level qualification in Agriculture, Animal Science, or a related discipline Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build credibility and trust with farmers, advisors, and industry stakeholders Highly developed analytical and observational skills, particularly in assessing animal performance and interpreting herd data Strong work ethic, self-motivated, and capable of working both independently and within a team Willingness to travel extensively within the country and internationally as required A full, clean driving licence is essential We Offer A unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge developments in cattle breeding and genetic improvement A dynamic and professional working environment within an industry-leading organisation Competitive salary and benefits package commensurate with qualification and experience Continuous professional development and long-term career growth opportunities All applications will be treated with strict confidence.
