Position DescriptionA key part of the SHE strategy is the development of the Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Compliance Framework. The SHE Compliance Manager will develop the framework through close collaboration with stakeholders in the Group Compliance function, the Group SHE function and SHE managers across all ESB Business Units.The role will own and develop the Second line of Defense to ensure accurate risk and compliance data are available to the Group SHE Manager, Group Internal Audit, the Executive Committee and ESB Board.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and document the SHE compliance frameworkDesign the interface processes between the first, second and third lines of defence, such that all three are strengthened and work effectively togetherCollaborate with the Governance Risk & Commplaince (GRC programme), Group Compliance Manager, Group Environment and Sustainability Manager, and Business Unit SHE / Line Management to develop the second line of defense such that it supports and aligns with the first line of defense in each Business UnitSupport the Group SHE Assurance Manager with developing and delivering the second line of defense audit programme. Input into the internal safety and environmental audit programmes based on compliance riskReport to the Group SHE Manager and Group Risk function on compliance Key Performance Indicators and Key Risk IndicatorsImplement and close out Group Internal Audit findingsEssentialExperience and QualificationsThird-level qualification in Health & Safety, Environmental Management, Risk & Compliance, or equivalent relevant experience7+ years of expertise in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Management, and/or Risk, Compliance, and AssuranceDemonstrates strong knowledge of Risk management processesProven ability to lead and deliver on ESB's safety, health, and environmental objectivesStrong leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesFlexible and adaptable approach to work, with excellent communication and presentation capabilitiesSkilled in report writing and stakeholder engagement across diverse teamsLocationThis position will be based in ESB Head Office, 27 Fitzwilliam, Dublin 2.ESB is committed to smart working – combining digital tools with a culture of trust and empowerment to enable flexible ways of working. The successful candidate may work flexibly within their jurisdiction with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration on at least two anchor days per week.
