Job Description Summary
BD is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electronics Engineer to own electronics engineering and product design initiatives for advanced electro‑mechanical medical devices. This role involves driving projects through all phases, from early technology development to full commercialisation, while collaborating within a global organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Design electronic assemblies and printed circuit boards; ensure compliance with regulatory standards (UL, IEC, FDA). Conduct EMI, safety, and manufacturability testing. Work closely with cross‑functional teams—mechanical, software, systems, and quality engineering—to align project schedules and budgets. Mentor junior engineers, perform failure analysis, generate design specifications and test documentation, and participate in technical design reviews to guarantee electrical integrity and safety.
Main Responsibilities
Design electronic assemblies and printed circuit board assemblies to support electro‑mechanical medical device product development and life cycle.
Work with cross‑functional teams such as mechanical, software, systems and quality engineering to contribute to project schedules and budgets in the coordination of overall product development.
Mentor more junior colleagues.
Evaluate and implement designs to ensure all agency requirements (UL, IEC, FDA) are met throughout the design process.
Design and test for EMI compliance, safety, manufacturability.
Apply failure analysis skills to determine and document root cause of product or component failure.
Generate design specifications, test protocols and test reports.
Participate in technical design reviews to ensure electrical design integrity and safety are achieved.
About You
Hold a Level 8 degree in Engineering (BSC in Electronics) or equivalent proven experience.
4+ years industry experience in a similar position; experience in the Medical Device sector is highly desired.
Strong electronics knowledge, experience with analog, digital and mixed‑signal circuits.
Experience in medical device industry, product design, EMC testing and requirement documentation.
