pharmaceutical company
in South Dublin expanding its manufacturing footprint with a new server room and 4 IDFs (VDERs). The server room will have 30 cabinets in a 100m² space built to BICSI Class F3 standards, while VDERs are smaller 3-cabinet areas supporting critical processes.
A hands-on
Senior Infrastructure Engineer
is needed to guide the project and manage day-to-day vendor activities, ensuring smooth delivery and collaboration with internal IS teams.
This is a long-term contract role (up to 2 years) with competitive hourly rates available (Up to €70/hour)
The Department & Role:
Reporting to the IT Project Manager, you'll ensure delivery of the server room and communications infrastructure. You will coordinate with architects, vendors, and teams to maintain quality and schedule compliance.
Key Responsibilities
:
* Supervise third-party vendors, ensuring safety and timely delivery of cabling and installations.
* Collaborate with architects and infrastructure managers to address delays or issues promptly.
* Coordinate with design, construction, and installation teams to meet technical and IT requirements, including MEP and Security systems and network deployment.
* Maintain clear communication with all stakeholders locally and remotely.
Candidate Profile
:
* Bachelor's degree in IT or a technical field.
* At least 10 years' experience in server rooms, hosting, or telecommunications.
* Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, cabling standards, networking (TCP/IP), and IT equipment.
* Experience in start-up and new build environments.
* Understanding of MEP systems relevant to Data Centers.
* Experience in regulated (GxP) or demanding environments.
