Role Title:Employment SolicitorBusiness Area:General CounselAbout This Role:PurposeTo provide employment and HR legal advice to all functions in EirTo liaise with external counsel and legal firms as directedTo liaise with appropriate government agencies including in conjunction with other departments and teamsExpectations From The Role:Key ResponsibilitiesDay-to-Day advice on employment law and HR matters to the remainder of the legal function and to the rest of the business.Legal FunctionDirect and in depth involvement in all employment matters including WRC, Labour Court, referrals, investigations, case management and decisions, as well as consultations and decisions.Advising on the likely changes to the employment law and labour relations framework.End to end management of all employment law litigation, including, representation before employment fora and/or briefing counsel as appropriate.The role requires an excellent understanding of Irish employment law and the workings of employment fora including the WRC and Labour Court.Working with Legal DepartmentProviding employment law advices to members of the Legal DepartmentWorking with the Legal colleagues where legal advice is required including on TUPE, outsourcing, and Employee Data Protection mattersThe role requires a close and supportive relationship between the legal and HR functions.General requirementsEngagement and experience in a cross-functional, general supporting role would be desirable.Latitude to make decisions impacting the relevant function outside of established procedures but within a policy framework.Information exchange is a significant feature of the job with a necessity to clarify information of a more complex nature.
