Job Summary: As Head of Project Management the successful candidate will be responsible for strategic oversight for the group, setting PM standards, resource allocation across multiple projects, mentoring PMs, managing portfolio-level risks, stakeholder alignment, and ensuring the projects deliver business value, bridging executive goals with practical execution for successful, consistent delivery.
This role requires a dynamic and experienced Head of Project Management to lead a multidisciplinary team delivering value into the markets we operate in.
This individual will oversee a team of Project Managers, Commercial, Planning, Document Controllers, and Project Coordinators, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership Team Development Aligning project goals with overall business objectives.
Developing and implementing project management methodologies (PMO standards).
Championing project management best practices across the organization.
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Project Managers, Senior PMs, Document Controllers, and Project Coordinators Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Project Oversight Delivery Oversee the full lifecycle of modular OSM projects from design handover to client delivery.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Commercial Contract Management Review and negotiate subcontractors and supplier agreements.
Ensure subcontractor performance aligns with contractual terms, cost, and quality requirements.
Manage disputes and variations with subcontractors to protect commercial interests.
Track project commercial performance and provide regular reports to senior management.
Analyse commercial data to identify trends, opportunities for cost savings, and process improvements.
Lead monthly commercial reviews with project and finance teams.
Prepare, submit, and negotiate claims for additional time or costs with clients and suppliers.
Manage dispute resolution processes including mediation, arbitration, or litigation support.
Ensure all changes are documented, justified, and approved in line with contract procedures.
Liaise between project teams, clients, and legal advisors to ensure smooth commercial operations.
Provide commercial training and guidance to project managers and engineers.
Maintain positive client relationships while safeguarding company commercial interests.
Governance Risk Management Implement and maintain robust project governance frameworks.
Monitor project risks, issues, and dependencies, and ensure timely resolution and escalation.
Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with commercial, engineering, scheduling, manufacturing, quality and finance teams to align project execution with business objectives.
Act as a key liaison between internal teams and external stakeholders Client Stakeholder Engagement Serve as the primary escalation point for project-related issues.
Ensure clear, consistent communication with clients and senior leadership throughout project delivery.
Performance Resource Planning Develop and manage resource plans to ensure optimal team allocation across projects.
Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for project delivery and team performance Compliance Quality Assurance Ensure all projects comply with client specifications, regulatory requirements, and internal quality standards.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the project delivery function.
Qualifications Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field PMP, Prince2, or equivalent certification preferred.
Lean or Six Sigma experience is an advantage.
