The role will be instrumental in developing, maintaining, and monitoring project schedules throughout the engineering, procurement, and construction phases. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure key project milestones are met and risks to delivery are proactively managed.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and Maintain Project SchedulesCreate and manage detailed project schedules across the full Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) lifecycle using Primavera P6Integrate schedules across disciplines and phases, ensuring consistency and logical sequencing of activitiesMaintain baseline schedules and incorporate approved changes and updates as projects progressMonitor Project Progress and PerformanceTrack actual progress against planned timelines, identifying variances and their root causesProvide early warnings of potential schedule slippage or risk to critical milestonesUpdate project schedules regularly to reflect the latest site and procurement informationStakeholder Coordination and CollaborationLiaise closely with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, site managers, and subcontractors to gather accurate and timely schedule inputsFacilitate planning meetings, schedule reviews, and coordination workshops to ensure alignment across the project teamReporting and CommunicationProduce weekly and monthly progress reports, including visual dashboards and narrative summariesCommunicate key schedule information clearly to project stakeholders, including risks, constraints, and opportunitiesSupport client and internal reporting requirements with accurate and up-to-date schedule dataSchedule Analysis and ForecastingPerform critical path analysis and assess schedule impacts from changes, delays, or risksRun "what-if" scenarios to explore the effects of schedule adjustments and mitigation strategiesContribute to project forecasting by updating time-phased activities and deliverablesSupport Risk and Change ManagementAlign schedules with risk registers and change logs to assess programme-level impactsIncorporate approved change orders and mitigation actions into the schedule baselineSupport project reforecasting exercises and risk-based planningEnsure Schedule Governance and ComplianceAdhere to internal planning procedures and scheduling best practicesEnsure that all schedules are auditable, well-documented, and traceableMaintain version control and records of schedule updates and changesRequirementsSignificant experience in construction planning and scheduling, ideally within EPC or large-scale infrastructure projectsProficient in scheduling software such as Primavera P6 and MS ProjectIn-depth understanding of construction and engineering project lifecyclesStrong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skillsAbility to work under pressure and manage multiple project schedules concurrentlyExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levelsQualifications and ExperienceEssentialDemonstrable experience in project planning and scheduling, ideally within EPC, construction, or large-scale infrastructure projectsProficiency in Primavera P6, with the ability to build, update, and manage complex project schedulesStrong understanding of the full project lifecycle, including engineering, procurement, and construction phasesExperience in tracking progress, reporting on schedule performance, and performing critical path analysisExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholdersStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying issues and solutionsAbility to manage multiple schedules across concurrent projects and work to tight deadlinesDesirableExperience working on renewable energy, power generation, or major civil engineering projectsFamiliarity with project controls processes, including cost management, change control, and risk analysisUnderstanding of NEC or FIDIC contract frameworksProficiency in MS Project and Excel for data analysis and reportingRelevant professional training or certification in project planning or controls (e.g. APM, PMI-SP, PRINCE2)EducationDegree or equivalent qualification in engineering, construction management, project management, or a related field is preferredProfessional development in planning software and techniques is advantageous
