Design Manager - County Longford - REF 1985I'm currently recruiting for a Design Manager to work for a leading engineering organisation based in County Longford.The organisation has been established for a very long time and are seen as one of Irelands leading manufacturers of their products that serve the construction sector. They've grown significantly over the years through a combination of organic growth as well as via acquisition.In line with expansion plans and in order to deal with the amount of work they have forecast they have the need to appoint a Design Manager on a permanent basis.In this role as a Design Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of close to 10 professionals. This role will focus on 3 key elements; project / programme management, people management and design. Whilst it is a Design Manager role, you will still be expected to get hands on designing and estimates suggest it will be a 60:40 split from management to design. A large part of this role will be working very closely with production to ensure that everything is on track enabling the products to be delivered to site on time. It's a constantly changing landscape, so the co-ordination of design and then subsequently the knock on effects to production will need close attention as project demands change from customers. You will also be expected to attend site visits, but all are local to the factory and would typically form day trips opposed to overnight stays.Requirements:Experience designing projects for the construction sector and still happy being hands on designingExperience with managing projects / programmesExperience with managing peopleDesirable Requirements:Timber Frame, Truss or Joist experienceThis role could suit someone who's previously designed and has since moved into a more Project/Programme/ Site Management role and now wants to combine both roles in an office environment.This is a fantastic opportunity for a Design Manager to join a growing company that can offer not only stability, but future growth should this appeal.
