We're assisting our client, a leading international law firm with one of Dublin's most respected Asset Management & Investment Funds practices, in the recruitment of an Associate to Senior Associate in Asset Management & Investment Funds. This is a genuine specialist platform — not a generalist finance seat with occasional funds work — advising global asset managers on sophisticated, cross-border matters from a tight-knit Dublin base.
The Dublin office operates as a close-knit team of around 20 people, including three partners and one of counsel. The associate layer is currently lean relative to senior leadership — meaning the person who joins steps directly into the gap, with real proximity to partners and clients from day one and a clear path to grow into a senior role.
The work
You’ll advise leading asset managers, fund sponsors, and service providers across a broad range of investment funds matters:
Structuring, establishing, and maintaining UCITS and AIFs
Advising on private funds, hedge funds, real estate funds, ETFs, and other alternative structures
Supporting management companies and fund platforms on ongoing regulatory and compliance matters
Drafting and negotiating fund documentation across a range of structures
Advising on regulatory frameworks and engaging with regulators and service providers
Working on cross-border transactions alongside colleagues in Europe, the US, the Middle East, and Asia
Why this role
Direct partner and client access — not filtered through layers of seniority
A genuine progression gap to grow into: the team is building upward and needs someone who wants to develop with it
Fully integrated global platform — work is international in scope, not just local execution
Consistently high-quality deal flow — this is a busy, well-regarded practice, not cyclical or seat-based
Strong mentorship and a collaborative, collegiate culture in a well-structured small office
Competitive remuneration aligned to the top of the Dublin market
About you
3–5 PQE (Ireland or UK qualified)
Strong experience in investment funds — UCITS and/or AIFs essential; a funds generalist background is ideal
Technically sharp, well‑organised, and confident managing your own matters
Comfortable working directly with senior clients and international counterparts
Commercially minded and interested in building long‑term client relationships
If you're a funds lawyer weighing your next move, this is a strong platform role worth a confidential conversation. Reach out to Caitriona Breaw at Amicus Search & Recruitment to discuss.
