Our client, a support service within the health sector, is seeking a Financial Officer / Management Accountant to oversee all financial operations for their Tralee, Kerry Services division. Reporting directly to the Finance Director (HQ, Dublin) and with a dotted line to local management, this role leads a finance team of 5–6 and ensures strong financial governance, compliance, and performance.
Key Job Duties
* Lead and develop a finance team of 5–6 staff.
* Manage payroll, including cover for the Payroll Officer as required.
* Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
* Prepare monthly management accounts, month-end journals, and bank reconciliations.
* Manage budgeting, forecasting, and rolling financial forecasts.
* Deliver timely and accurate financial reports to management.
* Support strategic initiatives such as NiSRP and IFMS projects.
* Ensure compliance with internal and external audit requirements.
* Provide oversight of residents’ finance operations.
* Drive process standardisation and efficiency improvements.
* Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including the HSE and funders.
Requirements
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
* Proven experience in financial leadership, payroll, and audit management.
* Strong analytical skills and advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
* Project management experience and payroll qualification are advantageous.
