Security Operations & Compliance Engineer
Location: Dublin
Type: Permanent | 60,000- 80,000 DOE
A technology-focused organisation in Dublin is looking for a Security Operations & Compliance Engineer to support the protection of its internal systems, networks, and cloud services. This position mixes hands-on security work with compliance and risk activity, giving you day-to-day involvement in monitoring, assessments, and control improvements.
You'll work closely with technical teams to strengthen defences, review potential risks, and help ensure the business maintains a strong and consistent security posture.
What You'll Be Doing
1. Keep internal security processes and controls up to date and ensure they're followed effectively.
2. Carry out routine assessments, security checks, and vulnerability reviews across systems and networks.
3. Assist teams across the business with secure practices and help drive adoption of security standards.
4. Monitor alerts, analyse security data, and support investigations when issues arise.
5. Maintain network and endpoint protection measures across firewalls, EDR, VPNs, and related tools.
6. Assist with backup and recovery processes, ensuring key systems stay resilient.
7. Review log data, identify weak points, and support improvements to overall security readiness.
What You Should Bring
8. Good knowledge of general security operations and hands-on experience with common security tools.
9. Familiarity with SIEM use, incident handling, and basic investigation workflows.
10. Practical exposure to firewalls, VPN setups, endpoint protection, detection systems, and vulnerability tooling.
11. Understanding of access control concepts identity systems, directory services, MFA, and permissions models.
12. Awareness of cloud security concepts (Azure/AWS desirable).
13. Comfortable working across different teams and providing clear, concise updates.
14. Certifications such as Security+, CEH, GSEC, or CISSP are helpful but not required.
