Rosderra Farms Management Position
Rosderra Farms are seeking to employ a Farm Manager for one of its pig production sites in the North of Ireland.
Report:
The Rosderra Farms Manager is a senior position within the Rosderra Farms business. The Manager will report to the Head of Pig Procurement.
The Manager will operate with the support of the Farms Accountant, HR Manager, Environmental Manager and H&S officer to ensure compliance with all the various regulatory requirements.
The main duties/responsibilities include:
1. Managing all production aspects of the pig farm to Continuous Improvement best practice. Making recommendations to improve performance and health of pigs
2. Working with the existing farm staff and implementing a strong training programme for existing and new farm staff
3. Evaluating the physical performance against best practice and ensuring standards are progressed to achieve best practice
4. Ensuring all production records are maintained
5. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements such as DAFM and EPA.
6. Implementing a standardised work routine and pig flow rotation across all aspects of the farm.
Requirements:
1. The applicant will need to have technical and practical competence, as well as the ability to make sound husbandry and business decisions
2. Previous experience is essential and any formal qualification is greatly valued.
3. A track record in dealing and managing staff would be helpful.
Salary and Working Hours:
The salary for this position will be competitive and reflect the importance of the position as well as level of experience.
Working hours are regular but as with any management position will vary from time to time and will involve weekend work.
