Role Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Assistant Electrician
to support EV charger installations for homes and businesses.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with an electrical background who is looking to build hands-on experience in the fast-growing electric vehicle sector.
You will work alongside experienced electricians, assisting with installations, preparation, testing, and customer interaction.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with the installation of EV chargers at residential and commercial properties
* Support certified electricians with electrical works, cable runs, and mounting equipment
* Help prepare sites before installation and clean up after completion
* Assist with testing, commissioning, and basic troubleshooting
* Ensure all work is carried out safely and in compliance with regulations
* Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles where required
* Provide a professional and courteous experience to customers on site
Ideal Candidate
* Basic electrical knowledge or training (apprenticeship or relevant experience preferred)
* Strong interest in EV charging and renewable technologies
* Willingness to learn EV charger systems and installation standards
* Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* Positive attitude and strong work ethic
* Comfortable working on-site at customer locations
Requirements
* Relevant electrical training or experience (apprentice level accepted)
* Understanding of electrical safety practices
* Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
* Good communication skills
* Full, valid driver's licence
* Ability to travel within Dublin and nearby counties
Desirable (But Not Essential)
* Previous experience assisting with EV charger installations
* Familiarity with domestic electrical systems
* Experience working on customer sites
