We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead two teams that will own and shape important aspects of the both DoneDeal and Adverts marketplaces. This is a rare opportunity to make an impact at a huge scale, with your work directly influencing how millions of individuals in Ireland connect and transact online.Your teams will own some of the most important parts of our marketplaces: user trust and safety, fraud prevention, user accounts, ad creation, private seller monetisation and provide support and tooling for our world-class CX team. In addition they will own all our car dealer facing systems, ensuring we provide them with best in class tools to manage their business, enabling them to create quality, data rich advertisements and provide a trusted car buying experience for DoneDeal users.What will I be doingPartnering with Product, Sales and Design/UX to define a vision and strategy for your teamLeading the execution of your team's roadmap and pragmatically solving bumps along the wayWhere necessary, getting into the details of problems to ensure we are building solutions in the right wayHelp coordinate delivery priorities, unblock teams, align solutions to our technology strategy and guide new feature development.Exploring generative AI opportunities to help build better products fasterLeading by example to set a culture of empowerment, accountability and ownership throughout the Engineering teamMonitoring team cadence and efficiency, surfacing operational insights and driving continuous improvementsDeveloping and mentoring the Engineers on your team, with a focus on career and personal growthJob requirements
What skills and experience do I needA track record of at least 3 years running Engineering teams, with experience in leading through ambiguity and uncertaintyA technical background and familiar with modern approaches to software development and practicesExcellent communication skills with the ability to set clear goals and the right contextA results-oriented nature and passionate about continuous improvement - of people, processes and technologySuccessfully recruited and developed phenomenal people and championed a great team culture of driving impact, growth and technical excellenceWhat's it like to work hereYou will have the opportunity to work with one of Ireland's fastest growing Internet companies.
