Meet the team
The RTÉ Information Office is responsible for providing an important service to the public, answering general questions about RTÉ's programming and services via phone (01 2083434) and email (******), from Monday to Friday (office hours).
The office also welcomes comment and feedback from the public, via phone (as above) and via email (******).
We are looking for an experienced Information Office Operator who will be responsible, along with one other individual (part time) for answering emails and calls to the Information Office.
They will be part of official RTÉ communications with the public and provide a warm, open, informed and helpful service to those contacting the office.
Reporting to RTÉ's Corporate Communications Manager, you will respond to a large number of calls and emails from the public daily and respond approved official information with the public, while also taking feedback and passing it on to key RTÉ staff members as appropriate and in a timely manner.
You will also be involved in the development of RTÉ's weekly Audience Log which is circulated to senior managers in RTÉ, including programme-makers and shared at weekly editorial meetings.
About the role
As an RTÉ Information Office Operator, you will:
Work within RTÉ's Central Communications team
Be part of official RTÉ communications with the public
Provide a warm, open, informed and helpful service to those contacting the office
Deal with a wide range of queries and feedback about RTÉ programmes and services
Bring important information from the public to the attention of your manager, or other appropriate personnel across RTÉ
Work across phone and email, keeping up to date on feedback and queries from the public
About you
As RTÉ Information Office Operator you will:
Have experience communicating with the public
Have strong communication skills
Be a self-starter
Be capable of working under pressure
Be able to prioritise responses to the public
Be motivated by serving the public
Able to work Monday – Friday, from 10.00am - 5.30pm
Nice to have
Knowledge of the Irish language would be an advantage but is not essential.

This appointment will be made at the Admin grade 4 and is being offered on a two year full-time fixed term contract basis.
This role is Monday to Friday during normal office hours, onsite.
The salary range is from €30,565 - €39,103 gross per annum.
