Avoidance of supply disruptions through the management of supplier relationships and delivery planning
About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced procurement professional to join our team in a senior buyer position. The role will focus on developing and enhancing systems and processes for end-to-end purchasing operations.
* Develop and enhance systems and processes: Create, maintain, and implement effective processes for procuring raw materials used in both commercial and clinical manufacturing.
* Collaborate with procurement teams and manage supplier performance: Work closely with internal stakeholders to build strong partnerships with key suppliers, ensuring optimal forecasting, purchase orders (POs), and invoicing processes.
* Oversee Purchase Order (PO) management: Manage PO creation, submission to suppliers, updates, inquiries, and assessments for closure, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials.
* Conduct materials planning and forecasting: Use electronic tools to determine order requirements based on consumption and scheduling, while maintaining and updating item data in SAP systems.
* Manage procurement operations and Material Requirements Planning (MRP): Ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials by monitoring supplier performance and reporting findings to management.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Prior experience in the pharmaceutical industry is preferred, with at least 5-10 years of relevant experience. A business studies qualification with a Supply Chain focus or Advanced certificate in Purchasing and Materials Management would be beneficial.
* Leadership skills: Strong leadership skills are essential for this role, as you will need to motivate and direct a team of professionals.
* Communication skills: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are required to effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
* Computer skills: Proficiency in computer software and systems, including ERP MRP and SAP, is necessary for this role.
* Attention to detail: Attention to detail and accuracy are crucial in managing complex procurement operations and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
