Job Overview
The Director of Operations will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of our organization. This individual will be responsible for leading multiple teams and departments, ensuring delivery across different functions, and maintaining a positive and collaborative culture.
Key Responsibilities
* Operational Leadership: The Director of Operations will coordinate department heads to ensure seamless collaboration and effective communication.
* Project Delivery: They will support the delivery of operational projects, keeping teams on track with agreed timelines and priorities.
* Culture Development: The Director of Operations will foster a positive culture through team events, office initiatives, and open communication channels.
People Management
* Recruitment: The Director of Operations will oversee recruitment pipelines and act as the first filter in the hiring process.
* Onboarding and Training: They will lead onboarding, training, and appraisals for new and existing staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
Commercial Oversight
* Budget Management: The Director of Operations will work closely with the Finance team to track and manage operational budgets, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently.
* Vendor Relationships: They will manage relationships with external partners, suppliers, and contractors, negotiating contracts and agreements to secure value for money.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience in senior operations, general management, or cross-functional leadership. They must possess strong people management skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to adapt their style when working with technical, creative, or customer-facing teams.
The successful candidate will demonstrate high emotional intelligence, a proven track record of delivering results, and a passion for fostering a positive and collaborative culture.
