AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support data centers, servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment to ensure continual access to cloud services. You’ll be part of a diverse team including software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers. We are seeking a Control Systems Engineer passionate about data center operations and automation to improve efficiency and availability. Responsibilities include supporting and developing control system designs, hardware integration, I/O mapping, and engineering specifications. Creativity and problem-solving skills are essential, along with a customer-centric approach.
The ideal candidate will have a broad background in data center or critical environment control systems, IT infrastructure, networking, programming, mechanical and electrical power monitoring, and leadership skills.

Key job responsibilities
* Deep knowledge of critical infrastructure, building operations, control diagrams, HVAC, electrical systems, and environmental concepts.
* Lead collaboration with multiple teams including construction, operation, commissioning, and sourcing.
* Diagnose and repair complex control system malfunctions, testing and modifying system software.
* Oversee hardware installation quality, review proposals, and programming during commissioning.
* Experience with data center redundancy, failure strategies, energy/water conservation, and data analytics.
* Operate effectively in high-security environments, maximizing productivity.
* Innovate and support mechanical and electrical control products and mechanisms.
* Interact with AWS cloud services for data analysis and management.
* Travel up to 50% or more for project deployment support.

Based in Dublin, Ireland, the team manages mechanical and electrical control system deployment, configuration, commissioning, and security updates to ensure system integrity.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Computer Science.
* Proficiency in Python and/or Codesys programming languages.
* Experience in controls engineering, including programming, start-up, and commissioning.
* Design experience with Controls and Monitoring projects.
* Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Project management experience with successful delivery.
* Experience with Linux systems.
* Design and integration experience with Industrial IoT solutions.
* Ability to coordinate large-scale projects with multiple stakeholders.
* Knowledge of Data Center Facilities Infrastructure and Industry standards.
