We are seeking a Senior DataOps Engineer to lead and evolve the operational excellence of our data platform. You will ensure that our data pipelines and infrastructure are scalable, secure, and production-ready, enabling consistent and trusted data delivery.
Sitting at the intersection of Data Engineering and DevOps, the role will drive DataOps best practices, with a strong focus on automation, monitoring, improving and system resilience.

The organisation is designated as an Operator of Essential Services (OES) under the EU Cyber directive, and we fulfil a pivotal role in maintaining the security, resilience and reliability of part of Ireland’s digital infrastructure.
We are based in Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin, opposite the Dart station and bus stops. We operate a hybrid working environment which is office based on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays with the flexibility to work from home on Mondays & Fridays.
Role Description/Responsibilities

Pipeline Orchestration & Automation: Design and manage scalable, automated data workflows (e.g. Airflow)
CI/CD & Deployment: Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with automated testing and release processes
Monitoring & Observability: Implement monitoring, alerting, SLAs/SLOs, and performance dashboards
Reliability & Incident Management: Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and system resilience improvements
Infrastructure Management: Manage AWS infrastructure using Terraform and Kubernetes across environments
Optimisation: Improve pipeline performance, efficiency, and cost management
Security & Governance: Enforce access controls, compliance, and data governance standards
Collaboration & Enablement: Support and enable data teams with tooling and best practices
Leadership: Define DataOps standards, mentor team members, and drive continuous improvement

Required Qualifications/ Experience & Skills

Candidates will have a degree or professional qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, or similar), with significant experience in DataOps, DevOps, or Data Engineering roles.

The ideal candidate must have

Proven experience managing and operating production-grade data platforms
Strong hands-on expertise with

AWS Security (Compute, Storage, IAM, networking)
Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)
Airflow (or similar orchestration tools)
CI/CD tools (e.g. TeamCity, GitHub Actions, Jenkins)


Proficiency in Python and/or scripting for automation
Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog)
Strong understanding of distributed systems, reliability engineering, and failure handling
Experience with data warehousing or data modelling concepts
Familiarity with data quality frameworks and testing strategies
Experience working in regulated, security, or compliance-driven environments

Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams

Salary and Benefits Package

Salary range: €65,000 – €85,000 per annum (commensurate with experience)
Annual performance related bonus potential of up to 8% of salary
