Ocuco is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team in Dublin. In this role, you will work across multiple Agile delivery teams supporting products used by thousands of optician sites worldwide, including enterprise customers such as Boots Opticians. The successful candidate will drive CI/CD maturity, Azure infrastructure automation, and platform reliability across our product portfolio, partnering with product teams to improve developer experience and strengthen engineering practices. We operate a Kanban‑Scrum hybrid delivery model and are actively investing in AI‑assisted development workflows, Platform Engineering practices, and cloud‑native modernisation. This is a hands‑on role with genuine ownership and visible impact, suited to someone who enjoys automating complex systems and improving platform reliability in a collaborative engineering environment with high technical standards.
Responsibilities
Administer GitHub Enterprise for a 100+ developer organization (access controls, branch protections, repo governance, Actions standards)
Define and enforce Git branching and release strategy standards across multiple product teams
CI/CD & Release Engineering
Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions (YAML)
Own deployment automation and release coordination across dev, staging, and production environments
Create reusable pipeline templates and guardrails to onboard new services quickly and safely
Partner with teams to improve build performance, test automation integration, and release quality
Infrastructure & Cloud Operations
Support cloud modernisation and migration initiatives, improving scalability, security, and cost efficiency
4 – 7 years’ hands‑on experience in a DevOps / Platform Engineering role, including CI/CD pipeline design and release automation
Scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, or Python
Practical Infrastructure as Code experience (Bicep strongly preferred; Terraform acceptable)
Strong Git/SCM knowledge, including branching strategies and release governance
Experience working with GitHub or a similar enterprise source control platform
The ideal candidate will also have
GitHub Enterprise administration at org scale; GitHub Actions reusable workflows and governance patterns
Azure DevOps experience (pipelines, repos, release workflows), especially during migration to GitHub
Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-400) or GitHub certifications
Observability experience (Azure Monitor, Datadog) and working with SLOs/SLIs
CI/CD for databases (SQL Server migrations and deployment automation)
Familiarity with .NET, Python, and/or React stacks
Experience with testing practices (TDD/BDD, integration test automation
Exposure to AI‑assisted developer tooling (e.g., Copilot, Claude Code)
