The Role:
The Technical Service Manager is responsible for leading and managing the technical service department. This role involves supporting both internal and external stakeholders in the delivery of a best-in-class technical service offering.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage a team of engineers as well as a service coordinator and an equipment coordinator.
* Maintain a high level of support to customers including repair turnaround time, breakdown response time and on time routine servicing.
* Advise and ensure all staff are up to date with technical training, best practices and monitor same by site visit and service/repair test result audits.
* Coordinate test equipment calibration and keep files up to date in accordance with the ISO and manufacturers policy.
* Work closely with suppliers regarding new testing methods, updates and advice.
* Support the sales team with technical assistance and product promotion when required.
* Liaise with customers regarding service contracts, quotations for repairs etc. It is also imperative to meet and build relationships with key hospital personnel.
* Work closely with the sales and admin team on specific tender documentations and service pricing.
* Source and interview potential new engineers/service administration candidates when required.
* Ensure good customer relations are maintained with both Bio-Medical/Clinical Engineering and on the ground front line medical staff.
* Plan and carry out new equipment installations.
Qualification & Skills
* Qualification in Biomedical, Mechanical or Electrical engineering.
* 5+ years' experience in the Medical Device industry.
* Strong understanding of regulatory requirement and managements systems.
* Customer focused, well organized, and ability to manage and expand the technical service department.
Experience need in:
* Managing projects with both internal and external stakeholders.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
* Ability to influence and lead change across all levels.
* Strong interpersonal skills, organisational and planning skills.
* Experience in the application of knowledge on standardisation to practice / process.
* Excellent IT skills: MS Office skills to include, MS Teams, Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint.
