Health Care Assistants – Contract of Indefinite Duration (Permanent) Day Contract
Full Time, Part Time, (days, evenings, weekends with various shift patterns)
Aurora provides residential and day services for adults with Intellectual Disabilities in a community-based setting with supports. Aurora has a highly trained and dedicated staff of more than 300 health-care professionals catering to the needs of over 75 adults with Intellectual Disabilities.
We are currently recruiting Health Care Assistants (HCA), Permanent Day Contracts to work as part of a community team. This is a rewarding and interesting role supporting people with complex needs to live full and valued lives in their own community, including opportunities to explore with people what they would like their life to look like.
This will be a varied role and you will be lead in the support you offer by the person you are supporting; this might find you at matches, joining choirs or cycling the greenway

The HCA will assist the people we support in all aspects of daily living in line with the needs, will and preference of the individual and as outlined in an agreed care plan. He/she will ensure that the needs of the people we support are being met through professional work practices. HCAs must be flexible in their approach to service provision and should have the ability to work as a member of a team.
Qualifications required
A relevant Certificate in Healthcare Support @ Fetac Level 5
Essential skills and experience
* Strong communication & interpersonal skills
* Experience in supporting individuals to live a good life
* Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
* Planning & organisational skills
* Ability to ensure a safe work environment
* Basic hygiene and infection control knowledge
* Computer literate including Microsoft Office and reporting writing
* Must be willing and able to participate in swimming pool-based activities
* Must be willing and able to drive Aurora's transport vehicles
* Must be willing and able to work rosters that include both days and split shifts
* Full Clean Drivers Licence essential
