JOB TITLE: Stores/dispatch Forklift Driver
BUSINESS UNIT: Food Ingredients
REPORTING TO: Dispatch Supervisor
LOCATION: Nenagh
PURPOSE:
Carry out forklift duties to ensure stock is picked and loaded onto lorries in accordance with picklist.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Unload deliveries.
2. Ensure correct store layout and deal with damaged pallets and bags. Remove damaged bag if returned from external warehouse. Ensure that product is replaced and the damaged product is rebagged/recategorised. Liaise with dispatch as appropriate.
3. Invert pallets using the pallet inverter.
4. Drive forklifts in an efficient and safe manner ensuring stock is moved as and when required.
5. Complete picklists accurately.
6. Maintain a clean, uncluttered and safe work-space. Empty skips and wheelie bins into the compactor. Operate the compactor to compact waste.
7. Operate the yard sweeper.
8. Carry out forklift safety checks on a daily basis and report any defects.
9. Clean at appropriate intervals to maintain machine performance and good manufacturing practice (GMP).
10. Document all required information in a timely manner consistent with our systems in line with BRC, traceability, customer and HACCP requirements.
11. Maintain good hygiene standards in the plant. Maintain all records for traceability and hygiene. Maintain a safe, clean, organized work area throughout the facility and shared areas.
12. To maintain a safe environment, report any health & safety incidents or concerns immediately.
13. Ensure adherence to zoning procedures.
14. Operators are required to work in accordance with the required roster system.
15. Perform all other duties deemed appropriate, necessary, required, or directed by plant management.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
* Leaving certificate or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE:
* At least 2 - 3 years' experience in a similar role is desirable.
* Fork-lift driving experience.
KEY COMPETENCIES:
* Strong attention to detail.
* Planning and decision making to ensure efficient and timely movement of stock.
* Fork-lift drivers licence is desirable.
* General PC literacy to generate picklists/stocklists, use hand-held scanners and label printers.
* Organisational skills.
* Hazard analysis critical control points (HACCP) and Food handling knowledge.
* High motivation who works well without supervision.
* Self-starter: is open to changing situations and is flexible and willing to perform all tasks when and where assigned.
* Team-worker with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Willing to collaborate and compromise where necessary and promptly share relevant information with others.
* Fluency in English written and oral.
* Maintains a positive and professional attitude and work ethic.

* Animal Feeds - Dan O’Connor Feeds, Limerick. Working to support milk suppliers and other producers, this section of the division focuses on providing quality nutritional information and high-performance products.
* Retail Trading Stores – provides a strong network of Agri/hardware retail outlets with a strong focus on delivering quality customer relations and ensuring consistent customer service. This section of the business is operating 12 retail outlets centered in North Munster/Mid-western regions.
