Volunteer Events Director – BRIA (Brazil-Ireland Association)
Organisation Overview: BRIA is an initiative dedicated to supporting Brazilian professionals in Ireland in overcoming the challenges of seeking employment, advancing their careers, and integrating into the Irish job market.
Our mission is to provide a support network, resources, and professional development opportunities to enhance Brazilians' professional profile and integration in Ireland.
Position: Volunteer Events Director
Location: Remote / Hybrid (Brazil/Ireland-based applicants preferred)
Time Commitment: Part-time (flexible hours, approximately 3 hours per week)
Role Overview: As the Volunteer Events Director, you will lead BRIA's Events Team, overseeing the planning and delivery of events across virtual, hybrid, and in-person formats.
This leadership role involves providing structure, creative direction, and operational excellence to ensure that BRIA's events are impactful, well‑organized, and aligned with the organisation's mission.
You'll collaborate with internal teams, partners, and community members to bring meaningful initiatives to life that foster connection, growth, and visibility.
Key Responsibilities
Event Leadership: Oversee the full cycle of BRIA events (online, in‑person, and hybrid), ensuring each initiative aligns with organisational goals and community needs.
Strategic Planning: Develop annual and quarterly event calendars in collaboration with department leads and community partners.
Operational Coordination: Supervise logistics, communications, and stakeholder engagement to ensure smooth event execution.
Documentation: Maintain clear and accessible records of event plans, checklists, and procedures for future reference.
Collaboration: Work closely with the Communications, Partnerships, and Cultural Programming teams to ensure cohesive event delivery.
Innovation: Introduce creative ideas and approaches to enhance engagement, attendance, and overall participant experience.
Mentorship & Support: Guide and empower volunteer team members, fostering a supportive and efficient working environment.
Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Event Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience coordinating or directing events, ideally within nonprofit, cultural, or community organisations.
Proven ability to manage multiple events and priorities simultaneously with clarity and focus.
Strong communication and leadership skills in both Portuguese and English.
Experience in hybrid, virtual, and in‑person event planning.
Excellent organisational and documentation skills, with attention to detail and consistency.
Ability to work independently while collaborating across a distributed, multicultural team.
Passionate about community engagement, cultural diversity, and delivering high‑impact events.
