Job Title: Fuel Contracts Negotiator, Trading
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team in Dublin. The successful candidate will report to the Forward Trading Desk Head and be part of a team that actively trades in wholesale energy markets.
The primary functions of this role include hedging the gross margin for ESB's thermal and renewable generation fleet, procurement of physical fuel supply, and conducting day-to-day trading activities in line with trading strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensuring timely delivery of suitable fuels to ESB's generation fleet
* Staying updated on current trends and developments in relevant areas
* Maintaining knowledge and skills to perform all duties effectively
* Supporting team achievement and contributing to team development
* Demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to change
* Developing a diverse range of counterparties with different coal sources
* Coordinating with Moneypoint on coal quality, specifications, and stock levels
* Managing shipment logistics, including vessel nomination and port arrangements
* Negotiating coal contracts, including spot and term, ensuring regulatory compliance
* Collaborating with legal on contracts
* Developing expertise in physical coal markets and their drivers
* Negotiating CIF and FOB contracts, including freight considerations
* Coordinating with insurance providers for coverage
* Working with Treasury and Back Office on payments and FX requirements
* Engaging with Shannon Foynes Port Authority on safety and tug rates
* Performing other duties as assigned by management
Requirements:
At least 5 years of relevant experience
Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office suite
Experience in contract negotiations
Strong understanding of the I-SEM market
Highly numerate
Experience managing stakeholders
Experience in front-line trading and operations
A third-level qualification with a strong quantitative, financial, or economics background is required, or equivalent work experience.
