At ICON, the Business Analyst - Solutions Designer plays a critical role in bridging
business needs, user experience (UX), and technology
to design data-driven solutions that improve decision-making.
This role focuses on understanding user needs, analyzing data, and translating insights into
practical solution concepts, prototypes, and requirements
that can be developed by technical teams.
The position sits at the intersection of
design thinking, data analysis, and stakeholder collaboration
, ensuring solutions are both usable and impactful.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Design & User Experience
Apply
design thinking methodologies
to identify user needs and define problem statements
Develop
low-fidelity mock-ups, wireframes, user stories, and process flows
Create and iterate
solution prototypes
based on stakeholder feedback
Ensure solutions are intuitive, user-friendly, and aligned with business goals
Data Analysis & Insights
Analyze and interpret
clinical or business data
to identify trends and opportunities
Collaborate with data teams to understand
data sources, structure, and usability
Translate data insights into
actionable design recommendations
Requirements Gathering & Documentation
Gather, document, and translate
business and system requirements
Communicate requirements clearly to
IT teams and external vendors
Support development teams by providing
functional clarity and design intent
Stakeholder Collaboration
Work cross-functionally with
product owners, SMEs, business analysts, designers, and technologists
Present findings and concepts to stakeholders at various levels
Advocate for user-centric design and ensure alignment across teams
Solution Delivery & Iteration
Support the
end-to-end lifecycle
from concept to production
Incorporate feedback and continuously improve solutions
Ensure compliance with
ICON SOPs, regulatory requirements, and ICH-GCP guidelines
Key Interfaces
Internal: Functional Managers, Product Teams, Data Science, IT/Technology Teams
External: Clients, Technical Vendors, and Cross-functional Stakeholders
Your Profile:
Required:
Bachelor's degree (required)
3–5 years of experience in:
Design Thinking / UX / Requirements Gathering
Data Analysis or Data Engineering
Experience creating:
Mock-ups, user stories, workflows, or prototypes
Skills Required:
Strong
analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to translate
business needs into technical requirements
Excellent
verbal and written communication skills
Experience working in
cross-functional and agile environments
