to support data centre projects by providing expert controls systems knowledge, technical troubleshooting, and third‑party system integration, while working closely with internal teams and clients to ensure successful project delivery.

What you will be doing
Accountability
Controls Engineering & Technical Support
* Act as the subject matter expert for controls systems within the product solution team.
* Provide technical assistance to project teams and subcontractors related to control logic, commissioning sequences, and integration.
* Troubleshoot controls issues during execution, working with factories, BMS integrators, and internal stakeholders.
* Validate system performance and support sequence of operations compliance checks.
Project Execution Support
* Support the project team during installation, commissioning, and handover phases by ensuring controls systems are properly configured and documented.
* Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and Integrated Systems Testing (IST) related to controls.
* Attend key milestone meetings with clients and internal stakeholders related to control system readiness and delivery.
Change Orders & Variations
* Identify and scope changes required in controls solutions as part of project variation orders.
* Provide technical input and risk assessment for control-related changes and support quotation process.
* Work closely with the Project Manager and Sales teams to align on technical and commercial impacts.
Quality, Compliance & Documentation
* Ensure all control solutions meet relevant industry standards and project-specific requirements.
* Maintain and contribute to project documentation including wiring diagrams, I/O lists, sequence of operation, and commissioning reports.
* Ensure that controls solutions are compatible with the data centre environment and comply with integration protocols (e.g. BACnet, Modbus).
Product Feedback and Innovation
* Provide structured feedback on control solution performance to engineering and product development teams.
* Contributes to improvements in software, hardware, and sequence strategies to enhance reliability and ease of commissioning.
Cross-functional Collaboration
* Collaborate with TSS (Technical Sales Support), R&D, Product Managers, and 3rd party controls partners to drive high-quality, integrated solutions.
* Coordinate with the Global Technical Support team to resolve escalated issues and contribute to knowledge sharing.
What you will bring:
Education/Knowledge/Certification:
* Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Automation, Control Systems, or related field.
Additional Qualifications / Certificates
* Expertise in PLC-based and BMS-based control systems, including programming and debugging.
* Strong understanding of HVAC control strategies, electrical integration, and communication protocols.
* Experience with tools such as Siemens, Schneider, Tridium, or similar platforms is beneficial.
* Understanding of the end-to-end project lifecycle, from design to commissioning.
* Data Centre specific certifications (e.g. CDCTP, DCS) are a plus.
Experience required:
* 3–5 years' experience working with controls systems, ideally in a data centre or mission-critical environment.
* Familiarity with integration of mechanical systems into BMS and SCADA platforms.
* Track record of supporting commissioning activities, including IST participation.
* Experience in structured troubleshooting and documentation of controls issues.
Key Deliverables:
* Controls systems that are successfully delivered, tested, and integrated into client sites.
* Technical documentation package for controls including logic diagrams, sequences, and test records.
* Timely resolution of control-related issues during execution, with clear reporting.
* Contribution to product and controls logic improvements for future projects.
* Technical support to change orders and client communications related to controls.
* Presentable with good customer facing skills and possess the ability to manage situations of conflict on site and under pressure
* Possess excellent time management and organisational skills
