Deputy Social Care Manager Job Description
Exciting new centre for young people seeking International protection is opening in Athlone, Co. Westmeath and we are seeking a deputy manager.
The role of the Deputy Manager (DM) is to work directly with the Centre Manager to assist in ensuring the day‐to‐day management of the residential centre. The DM will retain an integral practice role and ensure that the highest quality of care is provided to young people. The role will encompass administrative duties as well as responsibilities pertaining to the progression and practice of the staff team and the implementation of Placement Plan objectives for young people; ensuring that they are receiving the agreed quality and quantity services.

A Bachelor (Ord/Hons) or MA/MSc in any of the following fields:
* QQI Level 8 in Psychology
* QQI Level 7 or Professional Practice Qualification in Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy
* QQI Level 7 or Professional Practice Qualification in Counselling / Psychotherapy
* QQI Level 7 or Professional Practice Qualification in Addiction Counselling
* QQI Level 7 in Youth and Community or similar
* QQI Level 7 in Social Science / Social Studies
* QQI Level 7 in Family Support
* Professional Qualification in Teaching (Not TEFL)
* Professional Qualification in Nursing Studies
* QQI Level 7 in Disability Studies
* QQI Level 7 in Applied Behavioural Analysis
* BA in Applied Policing or equivalent
* Holder of Higher Certificate in Custodial Care (Irish Prison Service) or equivalent
Requirements:
* A full, clean drivers' licence, valid in Ireland.
* CORU Registered - In process of registering
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Knowledge of the National Standards in Children's Residential Centres and Children's First.
* Ability to work with young people and challenging behaviour.
* Passion to support young people who have experienced trauma in their lives.
Essential Experience:
Minimum 2 years' experience of working at social care grade with young people/children in residential settings.
