ICON is seeking a Financial Analyst II to join our Financial Business Planning team in Dublin. This is a project-focused finance role, centered on the financial management and performance of clinical studies.
You will work closely with operational and client-facing teams to analyze study performance, manage revenue and billing, support cash collection, and identify opportunities to improve project margins. The role offers excellent exposure to project delivery, stakeholder engagement, and commercial decision-making, making it ideal for someone early in their post-qualification career who is keen to develop in a business-facing finance role.
What You Will Be Doing
* Managing project-level financial performance across a portfolio of studies
* Analyzing study revenue, billing, invoicing, and cash collection on a project-by-project basis
* Monitoring project margins and identifying drivers impacting profitability
* Partnering with operational and project managers to explain financial performance and share key insights
* Reviewing study metrics to understand how projects are tracking against budget and forecast
* Supporting discussions around financial risks, opportunities, and potential improvements to study delivery
* Preparing regular project financial reports and analysis for internal and client-facing stakeholders
* Supporting month-end and pre-close activities to ensure accurate revenue recognition
* Contributing to continuous improvement in project reporting, financial processes, and data quality
What You Bring
* Newly qualified accountant or up to 2 years post-qualification experience (PQE)
* Background in practice or industry, with a desire to move into a business-partnering role
* Solid analytical skills and confidence working with financial data
* Strong Excel skills and an interest in developing financial systems and reporting capability
* Clear communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with non-finance stakeholders
