Job Title: Materials Planner
About This Role
The Materials Planner plays a pivotal part in ensuring seamless material delivery from suppliers.
This position is accountable for monitoring buy item flows, guaranteeing component availability to avoid material shortages and production downtime, as well as managing inventory levels to meet customer service and inventory targets.
Responsibilities:
* Perform timely and cost-effective procurement of production/inventory/MRO items.
* Receive and analyze requisitions to determine quantity, specifications, and delivery requirements.
* Select and recommend suppliers to fulfill scheduled plant deliveries.
* Maintain optimal inventory levels and safety stock for parts.
* Coordinate with Quality Assurance to resolve quality issues with suppliers.
* Analyze and select parts for KanBan and Supplier replenishment.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of experience in planning and buying, preferably with APICS (CPIM) certification. They should have extensive knowledge of the industry supply base and be skilled in production and supplier scheduling.
A successful Materials Planner must be knowledgeable of supplier processes and capabilities, able to provide direction and training to peers as needed, and proficient in ERP and Microsoft Office applications.
