The Opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven individual to join our Fundraising team, with a clear focus on developing strategic relationships that generate revenue resources for the organisation. This role centres on cultivating corporate partnerships, expanding individual giving, and supporting high-impact events and campaigns. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator and networker who is passionate about building meaningful connections to create sustainable revenue for COPE Galway.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and Manage Revenue-Generating Relationships- Proactively identify, cultivate, and manage relationships with corporate partners and individual donors, which deliver financial support for COPE Galway.
* Drive Strategic Partnerships -Create and present compelling partnership proposals, represent COPE Galway at networking events, and actively seek opportunities to develop mutually beneficial collaborations that deliver revenue.
* Support the Delivery of High-Impact Fundraising Events- Contribute to the planning, promotion, and execution of fundraising events such as the Business Leaders' Sleep Out.
* Leverage Data for Relationship Building- Use the Raiser's Edge donor database to accurately record interactions, analyse trends, support segmented communications, and inform stewardship strategies.
* Provide Exceptional Supporter Care- Ensure every donor and supporter receives a bespoke and meaningful experience that fosters long-term loyalty and support.
* Be a Visible Advocate for COPE Galway- Actively represent COPE Galway in the community, in line with our vision, mission and values.
* Uphold Ethical Fundraising Standards- Adhere to best practice guidelines as outlined by the Charities Institute Ireland, ensuring all fundraising activity is transparent and ethical, and is aligned with COPE Galway's organisational values.
* Team Player- Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating initiative, creativity, and a solutions-focused mindset.
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following qualifications, experience, and core competencies:
Education and Training:
* Third-level qualification in fundraising, business development, or similar.
Experience:
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a fundraising, business development or sales, role with a proven track record of generating revenue and achieving targets.
* Demonstrated success in identifying and building new business or donor relationships.
* Experience working in the charity, community, or voluntary sector is an advantage.
* Skilled in developing and delivering compelling proposals and presentations.
* Experience in managing supporter/donor journeys to increase engagement.
* Proficient in using CRM systems or donor databases to manage pipelines and track activity.
Competencies:
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong interpersonal and networking abilities with a natural flair for relationship building.
* Results-driven with a clear focus on meeting income goals and fundraising targets.
* Highly organised, able to prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable to changing needs and opportunities.
* Strong project management and coordination skills.
* Comfortable using Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams) and database systems.
* Understanding of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and experience engaging with corporate partners.
* Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends, including working at major fundraising events such as the Business Leaders' Sleep Out and the Christmas Day Swim.
* Full driving licence and access to personal transport is essential.
