The Manager of the Global Logistics Control Tower is responsible for overseeing the centralized coordination, visibility, and performance of global freight operations. This role ensures seamless end-to-end supply chain execution by leveraging real-time data, analytics, and cross-functional collaboration. The manager leads a team that monitors global shipments, resolves service disruptions, and drives continuous improvement across transportation and logistics networks.
Responsibilities
Control Tower Operations:
* Lead daily operations of the global logistics control tower, ensuring 24/7 visibility and proactive issue resolution.
* Monitor global shipments across all modes (ocean, rail, road, air) and regions utilizing our booking systems, visibility tools and dashboard.
* Coordinate with regional logistics teams in APAC/US/EMEA/LATAM, including SSLs, NVO’s & 3PLs to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
Performance & Contract Management:
* Define and track KPIs such as OTIF (On-Time In-Full), transit time, cost per shipment, and exception rates.
* Analyse Ocean freight data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for optimization.
* Ensure SSL/3PL Ocean contract adherence and support annual Ocean RFQ process.
* Monitor Ocean freight financials on a monthly/quarterly basis in line with AOP.
* Prepare and present performance reports to senior leadership, including carrier QBR’s.
Crisis & Exception Management:
* Act as the escalation point for port/rail disruptions, customs delays, and carrier challenges.
* Implement contingency plans and corrective actions to minimize impact on the supply chain.
* Collaborate with IT and digital teams to enhance control tower tools, dashboards, and automation.
* Ensure data integrity and integration across OMB, TMS, ERP, and visibility platforms.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
* Serve as the central point of contact for internal stakeholders (procurement, planning, customer service, finance etc..) and external partners (suppliers, logistics providers).
* Facilitate cross-functional meetings to align on logistics priorities and service levels.
* Lead initiatives to improve logistics efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
* Benchmark best practices and implement innovative logistics solutions.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
* 7+ years of experience in global logistics, transportation management, or supply chain operations.
* Proven experience managing a logistics control tower or centralized logistics function.
* Strong knowledge of international trade, customs regulations, and multimodal transportation.
* Proficiency in logistics systems ( ERP, visibility platforms) and data analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau, Excel).
