About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Engineer (Transformer Specialist) to join a specialist engineering team. In this role, you will deliver asset life-cycle management services for transformers and reactors across transmission and distribution networks—covering everything from factory acceptance to condition assessment, refurbishment, and end-of-life decisions.

Key Responsibilities
Lead project management of transformer life-cycle and root-cause fault analysis investigations.
Provide technical and project management support for refurbishment, rebuild, and on-line monitoring programmes.
Oversee quality control for oil regeneration and filtration programmes.
Generate health and criticality indices and maintain asset-risk registers.
Produce and verify life-management reports, develop project specifications, and evaluate tenders.
Drive data quality and introduce emerging transformer life-management technologies.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
Level 8 Engineering degree (or equivalent) with at least 3 years’ post-qualification experience.
Strong technical knowledge of transformers or HV substation equipment.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines, both independently and in teams.
Knowledge of technical policies, design standards, and HSE legislation.
Full driving licence and access to a car.
Desirable Skills
Experience in transformer life-management, condition monitoring, and test technologies.
Familiarity with transformer on-line monitoring systems.
Ability to assess test results for primary and secondary T&D assets.
Project management skills and/or accreditation.
Strong client and contractor negotiation skills.
Membership of a professional engineering body (e.g. Engineers Ireland, IET, Cigre).
