Mechanical Design Engineer Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop innovative designs from initial concept through to implementation, while continuously improving existing designs.
2. Collaborate with the sales team to visit customer sites and confirm equipment requirements.
3. Implement and maintain efficient production processes using Lean systems.
4. Work closely with the production team during the manufacturing process.
5. Document designs with solid part models, assemblies, and detailed drawings using Autodesk Inventor.
6. Verify designs using traditional analytical methods and dynamic/finite element analysis software.
7. Lead continuous improvement strategies for the production process.
8. Create and maintain complete machine product structures, including bills of materials, models, options, and service parts information.
Ideal candidate will possess 5+ years of experience in machine design or a related industry. Strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Proficiency in solid modelling (Autodesk Inventor preferred) and PC skills, including Excel and Word. Ability to manage complex design tasks following a sequenced workflow. Technical leadership skills, with experience in leading project teams and managing resources to achieve optimal results. Basic understanding across multiple areas of engineering, with advanced knowledge in Mechanical Design, Hydraulic Systems, or Electrical Systems. Proven ability to apply engineering principles to solve complex problems independently. Demonstrated experience in leading projects, developing project schedules, and executing them to plan.
