Opportunity
To provide high-quality clinical care to adult patients with mental health disorders across community settings within Mayo Mental Health Community Services.
The registrar will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to the assessment, diagnosis, and management of service users while developing advanced clinical and professional skills.
This post will be based across Ballinasloe's Community Services.
A Driving Licence is essential to apply for this role.

€68,891 €71,544 €74,133 €76,039 €78,577 €81,126
2. Additional remuneration for on-call duties and overtime as applicable depending on rota
3. 30 days annual leave
4. 10 public holidays
5. Hours: 37 hours per week, plus on-call supplements
6. The current vacancy available is temporary (3 months) and full-time with the possibility of extension.
Key Responsibilities
7. Provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for adult patients with a range of psychiatric conditions.
8. Participate in the on-call rota for General Adult Psychiatry (covering inpatients, emergency referrals, and liaison psychiatry).
9. Contribute to care planning and case management in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams (MDTs).
10. Conduct regular ward rounds, outpatient clinics, and community follow-up clinics under consultant supervision.
11. Liaise with primary care teams, emergency services, and voluntary/community organisations involved in mental health support.
Requirements to Apply
12. Full registration in place with the Irish Medical Council (IMC)
13. A minimum of 24 months of post-internship clinical experience in Psychiatry is required.
14. Able to take up the appointment by Aug/Sep 2025 (Must have a critical skills employment permit in place or permission to live and work in Ireland)
Desirable.
15. Prior experience working in an Irish or UK healthcare setting.
16. Participation in quality improvement or patient safety initiatives.
