Role Summary This is a fixed term maternity leave cover contract for a 12 months duration.Operating within the PSC accounting team, your primary responsibility will be finalising and reviewing professional service contractor sets of accounts. You will help to oversee the day-to-day activities of a team of Assistant Accountants and together you will manage the full range of advisory, accounting and taxation needs associated with the year end accounts process. You will also support the technical training and development of the Assistant Accountants, providing feedback and guidance where necessary. Duties & Responsibilities Be one of the key members of the PSC accounting team responsible for the delivery of the accounts preparation service within the PSC division in line with service level targets, customer experience standards and key performance indicators. Mentor Assistant Accountants and ensure that training procedures are being followed, Carry out tax and accounting activities including the preparation of financial accounts, corporation tax returns and associated documentation. Assist with the development and evaluation of IT projects that impact the accounts preparation process. Be responsible for ensuring the delivery of a high-quality customer experience for all clients, and for promoting a customer experience focused culture within the accounting team. Be a point of escalation in relation to accounts queries and related customer concerns, and support their timely resolution. Be proactive in identifying income generating opportunities within the PSC division by identifying out of scope clients, pension referral opportunities and appropriate further services and advice which may be suitable and beneficial to PSC clients. Assist with the monitoring of client fees, ensuring that clients are being billed in an amount co-measurable with the work required. Provide technical tax and accounting support in other areas of the business as dictated by business requirements. Be motivated to identify, propose, and execute improvements to operations, processes, policies, and customer touchpoints in support of the company's strategic objectives, and foster an environment of continuous improvement within the team. Contribute to short- and long-term business growth as well as divisional development strategies. Support the PSC and Personal Taxes Divisions Manager with other work as required. About You: You are a fully qualified accountant. You have worked for a minimum of 3 years in a practice environment with an SME client base and have developed an excellent broad range of technical knowledge and expertise regarding accounting and tax, particularly corporation tax. You have some experience in workflow management as well as training and supporting junior team members to develop technically and to achieve their own career progression. You have a passion for working with people and a strong focus on creating an excellent experience for clients. You are ambitious and have a growth mindset.
