Our organisation seeks a Contracts Manager to oversee site operations across Ireland.
* To programme and schedule works to maximise resource efficiency;
* To coordinate project supervision according to relevant safety standards;
* To prepare Construction Stage Health and Safety Plans from preliminary client-provided plans;
* To conduct regular inspections/audits on Temporary Traffic Management;
* To communicate Site Inductions, Methods Statements & Safe Systems of Work for visitors, employees, contractors, and suppliers;
* To liaise with Operations Managers/Supervisors/Managers and maintain proper record-keeping for projects;
* To monitor Surface Dressing quality for compliance;
* To coordinate testing and sampling of emulsions and aggregates;
* To source raw materials from approved suppliers only and identify potential suppliers;
* To appoint Approved Contractors for subcontract operations;
* Planning, forecasting, and scheduling of works;
* Managing contract financial performance, proactive cost management, and submitting invoicing/valuations promptly;
* Timely completion of monthly accounts including WIP and Accruals;
* To be aware of work in progress and maintain control;
Managerial Responsibilities:
* Direct, manage, and lead contracting operations across Ireland;
* Ensure compliance with all health & safety, environmental, and quality standards, particularly the safety of contracting teams;
* Meet annual revenue and margin deliverables as agreed with senior management;
* Grow market share in terms of revenue, tonnage, and products;
* Develop internal and external capabilities to deliver road maintenance services across Ireland;
* Measure performance in productivity, quality, health & safety, costs, revenue, and asset management;
* Develop programmes to improve production efficiency;
* Contribute to tenders in a timely and efficient manner;
* Build new market opportunities - introduce new products and methodologies to the region;
* Promote environmental procedures, e.g., recycling, waste minimisation;
* Encourage positive employee relations within the organisation;
* Optimise human resource use through involvement, open communication, and effective teamwork;
Requirements:
* A level 8 degree in Civil/Construction or equivalent industry-recognised safety training;
* Up to 5 years prior leadership experience in road surfacing or contracting;
* Knowledge of contracting, estimating, project management, health & safety, and outsourcing;
* Effective verbal and written communication skills;
* Problem-solving ability and analytical skills to resolve technical challenges effectively;
* Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams contributing to project goals without direct management responsibilities;
