Job Purpose The Junior Service Now Administrator supports the ongoing operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Service Now platform within An Post.
The role is suitable for someone with practical, hands-on Service Now administration experience who is ready to further develop their skills while contributing to a live production environment.
Job Description The Junior Service Now Administrator works under the guidance of a Senior Service Now Administrator to support the configuration, administration, and stability of the Service Now platform.
This role involves maintaining existing functionality, assisting with enhancements, supporting users, and ensuring platform changes follow agreed standards and best practices.
The Junior Service Now Administrator will gain deeper exposure to Service Now modules, scripting, upgrades, and integrations while playing an active role in day-to-day platform delivery.
Main Responsibilities Support the day-to-day administration and operation of the Service Now platform, including users, groups, roles, and access controls Provide configuration and support across core ITSM modules, as well as Customer Service Management (CSM), Business Continuity Management (BCM), and the CMDB Assist in maintaining CMDB data quality, including CI records, attributes, and basic governance activities Support the configuration and ongoing maintenance of multiple Service Now service portals, ensuring a consistent and user-friendly experience Configure and support service Catalog items, request workflows, approvals, and notifications Provide administration and support for the Service Now Mobile Agent application, including user access, configuration, and functional troubleshooting Build and maintain basic platform components such as forms, fields, UI policies, business rules, client scripts, workflows, and notifications Support platform upgrades, patching, testing, and deployment activities Troubleshoot and resolve Service Now-related incidents and service requests Assist with reporting, dashboards, and basic performance metrics across supported modules Maintain platform documentation, configuration records, and user guides Work with stakeholders to understand requirements and support incremental improvements while following Service Now best practices and governance standards Personal Skills Strong interest in developing a career in Service Now administration Good problem-solving and analytical skills Ability to follow technical processes and standards Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain issues simply Well-organised and able to manage multiple tasks Willingness to learn and take on feedback Proactive approach with a strong attention to detail Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment Experience Required Practical experience working in a Service Now administrator or support role (not entry-level / not newly qualified) Hands-on experience supporting a live Service Now instance Experience working with at least some ITSM modules (Incident, Request, Change, etc.) Basic experience configuring Service Now components such as forms, fields, notifications, and simple workflows Understanding of Service Now platform concepts, roles, and security model Experience working in an IT support or service management environment Service Now System Administrator certification is essential Show a willingness to continue formal learning and certification in Service Now Skills: Service Now Service Now Administrator system administrator Benefits: Work From Home
