Excel Recruitment are delighted to be recruiting a Staff Grade Dietitian for a full-time maternity cover contract based in an acute hospital in Clonmel, Co. Tipperary. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive, well-established dietetics team and gain valuable experience across Maternity and Acute Medicine.
The post is primarily split between Maternity and Acute Medicine; however, applications will be considered from candidates seeking part-time work within either specialty. You will work closely with Senior Dietitians, Management, and other allied health professionals in a collaborative environment.
Experience in Maternity and/or Acute Medicine is desirable but not essential, and training and support will be provided.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Provide dietetic assessment and nutrition care planning for patients within the acute hospital setting.
2. Deliver evidence-based nutrition advice and education to patients and their families.
3. Support the management of patients with diabetes and/or maternity-related nutritional needs.
4. Work collaboratively with consultants, nurses, midwives, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
5. Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with hospital and CORU standards.
6. Participate in service development, audit, and quality improvement initiatives.
7. Engage in ongoing professional development and supervision as required.
Requirements
8. BSc/MSc in Human Nutrition and Dietetics (or equivalent).
9. Registered with CORU and INDI (essential).
10. Dietetic experience within an acute or hospital setting is desirable.
11. Interest or experience in diabetes and/or maternity dietetics is advantageous.
12. Strong communication, organisational, and time-management skills.
13. Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
