The Role: Relief Chef - Bundoran Residential Home for Older Persons We are currently looking to recruit a Casual Relief Chef to join our Children and Family Services team in Bundoran, Co. Donegal. The post holder will have responsibility for preparing and cooking healthy and quality meals for all service users of Bundoran Residential Centre for Older Persons. The chef will cater for additional dietary requirements as needed. To budget, plan and ensure that stock levels are kept replenished at all times. and will be responsible for shopping for food, preparing it and cooking it. Candidate Requirements: EDUCATION A qualification in catering or a related field HACCP level 2 minimum KNOWLEDGE Comprehensive knowledge and competence in professional cookery An ability to cater for specific dietary requirements and experience of cooking for large numbers An ability to produce food to the required standard, using correct methods. Is capable of using and making the best use of cooking equipment. Detailed knowledge and commitment to food hygiene and best practice including HACCP. An ability to provide safe food management, adhere to standards of personal hygiene and prepares food professionally An advanced understanding and ability to adhere to protocols regarding food hygiene and nutrition; ensures that staff understand and act accordingly. A willingness to engage with training and develop information technology skills relevant to the role. EXPERIENCE Experience working as a chef or in a similar role. Experience working in a holiday home, hotel, bar or similar organisation. SKILLS An ability to communicate and work safely with all. The ability to maintain professional boundaries. The ability to work as part of a team, and on own initiative where required. To be able to manage a budget.
