Job Description:
The Position
We are seeking a dedicated AI Auditor to join our team, focusing on the human rights implications of AI systems and related systemic risk including their potential threats to democracy, the electoral process and harm of individuals, as identified in legislations such as the EU Digital Services Act (DSA) and AI Act.
The AI Auditor will perform independent audits of AI systems for clients, focusing on their impact on human rights, democratic processes, and systemic risks as identified in legislations such as the EU Digital Services Act (DSA) and AI Act. This role requires a technical understanding of AI technologies while emphasizing the ethical considerations and societal implications of their deployment. The auditor will also conduct both compliance gap analyses and risk assessments to identify risks and compliance gaps.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct independent audits of client AI frameworks, governance, models and systems to evaluate compliance with legislations such as the EU Digital Services Act and AI Act.
* Conduct risk assessments to identify systemic and non-systemic risks associated with AI technologies, including misinformation, bias, and manipulation.
* Perform compliance gap analyses to identify discrepancies between AI controls and regulatory requirements or best practices.
* Analyse the implications of AI systems on wider society and provide recommendations for mitigating identified risks.
* Prepare detailed audit reports for clients, highlighting findings related to systemic and non systemic risks and impacts, compliance gaps, identified threats and their implications, as well as actionable recommendations for improvement.
* Stay informed about developments in AI technologies, related legislation, and best practices for promoting digital trust.
* Advocate for the integration of systemic risks and human rights considerations into the design and implementation of AI systems for clients.
* Collaborate with clients to develop tailored audit plans that address their specific needs and compliance challenges.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or a related field; MSc degree preferred.
* Experience in auditing AI systems, compliance, or regulatory roles with a focus on systemic risks, ethical considerations and human rights.
* Strong understanding of the implications of AI technologies on democracy, electoral processes, and systemic risks as outlined in legislation such as the DSA and AI Act.
* Familiarity with data ethics principles, including fairness, transparency, explainability and accountability.
* Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess complex AI systems and their wider societal impacts.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical and ethical information clearly to diverse audiences.
* Ability to work independently and maintain objectivity in client engagements.
* Experience in human rights advocacy or policy analysis related to technology and AI.
* Knowledge of ethical AI frameworks and best practices in promoting digital trust.
* Familiarity with recommender, content moderation, advertising systems, their associated risks and their regulatory implications.
