About the Role
As the Product Engineer - Cloud Solutions & Innovation, operating within our Global Cloud Solutions & Innovation team you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our organisation, with a specific focus on cloud customers. Collaborating with diverse teams, you will support the execution of ambitious growth plans, securing Tate's continued leadership in the industry. This is a remarkable opportunity to make a significant impact on our organisation's growth journey as we continue to expand our manufacturing capability across all regions.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the global engineering strategy for Tate products that align with the organisation's market position and enable tailored design solutions to be developed that meet the specific needs and challenges of cloud-based environments.
* Provide engineering and design expertise, as part of the global engineering team, proposing creative solutions, supporting a culture of creativity, innovation and excellence.
* Collaborate closely with cloud customers to understand their design requirements, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and work cross functionally with internal teams (i.e. project management, sales, R&D, engineering, manufacturing) to ensure seamless integration of designs (from concept to full scale manufacturing).
* Support the integration of innovative technologies and sustainable engineering practices into product offerings.
* Provide project costing, manufacturing time estimates, and manufacturing bills of materials to support the Global Account Directors serving our cloud customers.
* Complete conceptualisation and visualisation of design projects, in line with Tate's commitment to excellence at each stage of development.
* Utilise cutting-edge engineering tools and methodologies to create compelling presentations and prototypes.
* Support the development and implementation of standardised engineering practices, ensuring consistency and quality across all regions with all engineering efforts fully aligned with the organisation's brand identity and messaging.
* Foster collaborative relationships with key cloud customers to co-create design solutions that meet their evolving needs.
* Provide regular reports and updates to the Lead Product Engineer - Cloud Solutions & Innovation on performance, milestones, and potential risks.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
Education: A bachelor's degree in Design, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: Proven experience of no less than 3 years in an engineering/design role, preferably in a regional context within the data centre or construction industry.
Skills
* Strong attention to detail and planning skills with a track record of driving design innovation.
* Experience designing products/systems for critical infrastructure projects like oil & gas, chemical processing, power generation or data centre is preferred.
* Experience designing integrated modular or skid systems will be advantageous.
* Knowledge of cloud-based environments and their impact on design requirements is preferred.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in design tools and 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, Onshape (preferred)).
* Ability to travel occasionally, as required. (primarily regionally, some global travel may be required)
