We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented
Mechanical Estimator
to join ASEE Group's commercial team. This role will be responsible for preparing accurate, competitive, and compliant cost estimates for mechanical projects. The Mechanical Estimator will play a key role in securing new work for the business, providing technical and commercial expertise throughout the tendering process while supporting and mentoring junior members of the estimating team.
Role Responsibilities:
* Prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical engineering projects, including materials, labour, and subcontractor elements.
* Analyse drawings, specifications, and tender documents to develop accurate estimates.
* Preparation and submission of competitive bids and tenders.
* Work closely with the commercial and project management teams to provide technical input and risk assessment.
* Manage subcontractor and supplier enquiries, ensuring accurate pricing and scope coverage.
* Review and assess client requirements, identifying opportunities and risks within tenders
* Ensure compliance with industry standards, client specifications, and ASEE Group procedures.
* Provide handover information and support to project teams following successful bids.
* Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes, systems, and databases.

Qualifications & Experience:
* Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, Quantity Surveying, or related discipline.
* Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator.
* Strong track record in preparing cost estimates and winning bids in M&E, construction, or infrastructure sectors.
* Excellent knowledge of mechanical systems, industry codes, and standards.
* Experience in tendering for large-scale mechanical projects.
* Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel).
* Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative commercial team.
