Mallow Credit Union is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Non-Financial Risk Analyst to join our Risk Management team. This role is critical in supporting the Credit Unions commitment to strong governance, compliance, and operational resilience. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Regulation and the senior management team to identify, assess, monitor, and report on non-financial risks across the organisation. Key Responsibilities: Assist in identifying operational, compliance, reputational, and strategic risks across all departments. Evaluate and test internal controls to ensure effectiveness and identify gaps. Support the development and implementation of risk mitigation strategies. Maintain and assist with the update the credit union risk register and risk management software. Monitor Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and escalate risks approaching tolerance thresholds. Prepare risk reports for Senior Management, the relevant committees, and the Board of Directors. Manage the policy framework and ensure policies are current and aligned with regulatory requirements. Deliver risk training to staff, volunteers, and directors to promote a risk-aware culture. Liaise with internal departments to ensure department-specific risks are captured and managed. Collaborate with compliance and internal audit teams to ensure integrated risk oversight. Engage with external stakeholders, including regulators and auditors, as required. Support the Head of Regulation in developing the maturity of the credit unions risk management frameworks in relation to key areas of focus such as consumer protection, ICT risk and operational resilience. The successful candidate should have the following Qualifications and Experience: Qualifications relevant to the role (e.g., Risk Management, Compliance, Business, Law, or related field). Experience working in a risk or compliance role within financial services, preferably in a credit union or similar institution. Strong analytical and organisational skills with high attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
