The Opportunity
In the Risk Management Function, we deliver solutions in the management, control and mitigation of risks. We maintain the company’s risk management and control system with both independent risk oversight and alignment to business strategy.
This role reports to the Head of Operational Risk and is part of a Risk Management team based in Allianz House, Elmpark, Merrion Road, Dublin 4.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate qualitative risk management and control activities for individual business areas and define and prioritize mitigation actions in collaboration with the business.
* Support business areas in managing risks within the company’s risk appetite (e.g., underwriting, pricing and operational resilience).
* Coordinate processes and reporting relating to the internal control system in line with Allianz Group and local regulatory requirements, with a risk-based focus.
* Produce timely internal risk reporting on governance, operational risk, internal controls, or other topics for the Risk Committee.
* Provide second line oversight and challenge of first line activities through risk and control assessments, control testing, and regular interactions with business areas.
* Define and prioritise mitigation actions in collaboration with the business.
* Support the risk function across broader operational risk topics.
* Establish strong partnerships across the organisation to facilitate open communication and effective risk management.
Key Requirements / Skills & Experience
* Minimum of 3 years’ experience in qualitative risk or a similar role.
* Experience facilitating workshops and presenting to senior stakeholders.
* Understanding of operational risk management, internal controls, and risk management techniques.
* Knowledge of P&C insurance operating model and process landscape for cross-departmental thinking.
* Relevant qualification in Risk Management.
* Experience with Data, Artificial Intelligence and/or IT Governance Frameworks.
* Experience in an additional oversight role (e.g., Compliance, Audit, or Information Security).
