Base pay range
Commencing in June 2026, the Depaul Graduate Programme offers a fantastic opportunity to grow your professional skills and make a difference. Trained as a Support Worker, you will be a member of a multi‑disciplined team using holistic approaches to support Depaul service users. Working within the principle of harm reduction where residents receive a high degree of care, support and dignity, Depaul has a commitment to service user participation and to empowering residents to manage their own lives.
This role works across a 7‑day week rota.
At the end of the twelve month programme graduates will be able to:
Work as a member of a multi‑disciplined team in the best interests of the residents and report to the team
Encourage and support service users to develop skills in managing their daily living
Observe and attend key worker sessions with service users when required
Provide a presentation on experience of Graduate Programme
Key Areas of Responsibility
Encourage and support service users to develop skills in managing their daily living
In conjunction with residents and the rest of the team ensure that the service is kept to a good standard of tidiness, cleanliness and hygiene including communal areas
Encourage service users to take responsibility for maintaining their own environment
Observe and attend key worker sessions with service users when required
Provide a report on an assigned case study during Support Worker Rotation
In conjunction with project team, assist residents with personal monies, service charge payments, etc. where necessary
Carry out project administration tasks such as upkeep of petty cash, project statistics, invoices, record keeping, Service User’s files, OTIS, IR and AR completion etc.
Ensure that Health and Safety standards are met within the project in accordance with Depaul’s Health and Safety policy and the project's Safety Statement
Undertake assigned duties regarding the overall health and safety and security of the service and use security systems put in place
Support residents – maintain positive mental health
Act as a member of a multi‑disciplined team in the best interests of the residents and report to the team and partner agency when case workers are not available
Plan and facilitate onsite social activities
Attend and participate in team meetings and staff team days
Participate in regular supervision and annual appraisal, helping to identify your own job‑related development and training needs
Participate in ongoing graduate programmes and events

Person Requirements and Experience
Qualification in the Social Care field – Social Care, Psychology, Social Science, Criminology or Community Development
Relevant experience – student placement or relevant voluntary experience in the Social Care sector required
Process an understanding of why people become homeless and the issues they present with, understanding what supports can be offered in homeless services to service users with complex support needs
Have knowledge of the statutory and voluntary sector resources available to homeless people
Be a good communicator and computer literate
Knowledge and understanding of Depaul vision, mission and values
Ability to work shifts
Driving licence required.
