Junior Planner Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Junior Planner to join our team on a major healthcare project in Belfast.
About the Role
* Manage and coordinate project programmes, collaborating with the Senior Planner to ensure timely delivery and efficient resource allocation.
* Closely cooperate with office-based and site-based staff, contractors, and suppliers to maintain consistency and alignment throughout all phases of MEP projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop, maintain, and review project programmes at both pre-contract and post-contract stages.
2. Generate progress reports and update project schedules and forecasts using software like Microsoft Project or Asta.
3. Utilise project management tools to effectively plan and manage project timeframes.
4. Collaborate with Estimators to determine the resources needed for projects.
5. Create contingency plans to address potential changes in project timelines.
6. Meet with contractors and suppliers to discuss and review programme-related issues.
7. Coordinate between office and site teams to ensure consistency in programmes and sequencing.
8. Develop procurement and design programmes that align with agreed construction timelines.
9. Conduct critical reviews of programmes for Extension of Time (EOT) requests, identifying delays, hold-ups, and additional work.
10. Maintain a basic understanding of EOT/Compensation Events requirements to ensure accurate programme adjustments.
Requirements
* 1+ years experience working as a Planner with good knowledge of UK Building Regulations
* Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
* Proficiency in using planning software such as Asta and Microsoft Project
* Analytical thinking with a focus on problem-solving
* Excellent verbal communication skills
* Persistence, determination, and a results-driven mindset
* Possession of a valid UK driving licence
