About the Organisation
A leading national governing body in sport is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to join its executive leadership team.
This is a rare opportunity to play a pivotal role at the heart of one of Ireland's most popular and high-profile sports, supporting both elite performance and grassroots participation nationwide.
After a period of successful transformation and stabilisation, the organisation is embarking on an ambitious new strategy — including long-term facilities investment, hosting international tournaments, and continued commercial growth.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and sitting on the Senior Leadership Team, the CFO will:
* Lead the finance function, developing people and modernising systems to embed best practice.
* Drive financial strategy, planning, forecasting, and risk management.
* Oversee robust governance, statutory reporting, and external audit processes.
* Manage stakeholder relationships across Government, regulators, funding partners, sponsors, and international federations.
* Provide commercial insight and guidance to optimise revenues, control costs, and deliver long-term sustainability.
* Play a central role in capital investment and major-event readiness.
About You
We are looking for a strategic and commercially minded finance leader with:
* 10+ years' senior leadership experience, ideally in a client- or consumer-facing environment.
* Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
* Strong track record of shaping and executing financial strategy in complex organisations.
* Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, analysis, and risk management.
* Demonstrated ability to influence at Board level and build trusted stakeholder relationships.
* Inspirational leadership style, with a focus on transformation and team development.
